Edit: Before engine rebuild (piston slap) I used T6 and the engine was spotless at tear-down.
A pinch of ZDDP additive at oil change won't hurt.
If you offroad your Jeep consider the WIX 51452 over the 51515. $7.91 vs $4.40 on Rock Auto.

ZDDP, as described above, used to be an additive in most oils some years ago but the oil manufacturers have deleted it to comply with government regs. Our flat tappet lifters need this stuff. There's a few ZDDP additives on the shelf that can be used (to moderation) to add to your oil to compensate for the lack of it in current oils. Google "ZDDP additives" and see what you find. Adding ZDDP has been the talk of the town for a long time.

good to know... I have a long list of chemical acronyms and remembering even a fraction is near impossible for me, just the list alone in petroleum based product is enough to blind me... ..
I'll look it up..

Advance Auto Parts near me didn't have the 51515 so I went with the Mobil 1 M1-301, it's bigger than standard but I don't know if it's as big as the 51515. They were having a sale on Mobil 1 Synthetic so I grabbed some of that too.

It is the same size. The listed application for these "oversized" filters is the "old" Ford 302/351 (and several other engines). The Motorcraft FL-1A, Purolator PL30001, Fram PH8A (don't use Fram, I'm just providing this as a cross-reference),Wix 51515, NAPA 1515, Mobil M1-301, etc. are all (approximately) the same size.Originally Posted by roadraje
