In my quest to find a new Neutral Safety Switch (yes I read the many threads) I'came across this item, which bears the same name, but is nothing like the switch I need (the one on the tranny with the wires goingg into the engine compartment, connector on the end)

So, what is this one actually? (hope the attachment works, but otherwise, it's more like a bolt-type item, and really cheap too)

most likely for a standard shift the arm from clutch pedal moves the button allowing starting

That switch is not for the AW4, it's for the Chrysler transmissions. It will work in a GrandCherokee, not an XJ.
