Smile What kind of axle...

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a zoneoffroad 3 inch lift (http://zoneoffroad.com/product?ki=34&gr=-1 , opinions?) But I don't know what kind of axle I have and I don't know how to find out. So what I'm asking is if anyone can tell me or show me pictures of the two types so I can see what I have. I have a 1997 Sport edition, but I think there all different?

Thanks a lot!

Get under your jeep, so you can look at the back of the axle (where the drive shaft connects) and look for a flat spot on the bottom of your axle. If so then you have a chrystler 8.25 if no flat spot then you have a dana 35. If you really need to know, and if i am right you have a 29 spline axle which came in the newer models i think... Experienced member correct me if i am wrong on any of this.

Thanks everyone! Turns out I have a Chrysler 8.25. Is that good or better than the Dana? I don't really know anything about axles other than where they're located at! Hahaha

Thanks again!

What does it involve to upgrade to the 97 and later 29 spline?

To go from the 35 to the 8.25 is just unbolt the 35 disconnect the brake lines and drop the axle and put the new 8.25 with new u bolts in and bolt it in i just did the swap 2 weeks ago it was easy
