what is this, and how bad is it that its loose??

what is this, and how bad is it that its loose??
so i noticed this (pic below) the other day while trying to burb my jeep and idk what it is.

that is your PCV valve. It sucks out the vapors that engines create and puts back into the combustion chamber to burn off. It should be pretty snug in the grommet....by the looks of it it should be changed along with the grommet

on edit you should pull it out and shake it...if you can hear it rattle it is still good...if not replace it...I would change the grommet no matter what...it is to worn to hold the valve where it needs to be
