What the heck is this "box" underneath my jeep?
This isn't my jeep, but I found this picture and finally decided to post about this. I have no clue what this box is or does, but it's rusted to ***** on my XJ. Any help appreciated!

What's wrong with the bracket (cover?) you have?
Edit: The part number for the bracket is 53013040AC, if you are looking to buy a new one.
I managed to salvage mine. It was rusted pretty bad but no holes in it so I de-rusted it and painted it.
