Default What goes under the driver's seat?

I had been wondering what the studs and bracket are for under the driver's seat on my 99 XJ...
Does anyone know?

I'd guess some factory option that was never installed, but what?

Most likely the bracket for the airbag control module. There was a service recall that moved it to under the center console.

the bracket is mounted to the floor, almost independent from the seat.

Rob, are you sure it's factory? It may have been something the PO installed like for a fire extinguisher or mag light or the like.

What year? My 97 has a power driver seat and the power/motor thing is mounted under it.

I only have a Springfield XD9 for the time being. Looking into a Ruger 357 though. How do you like the FNP45?

His is a 99 - I think he kinda already ruled out the power motor though.

Over 3000 through it and been great. Doesn't like cheap ammo...
I'll get a pic, back in 5!

I took this from the back seat area...

Even color matched to my XJ, I'd bet it's factory.

Looks factory to me. Sucks it's located so far under the seat - not really a practical place for a fire extinguisher or mag light...
