Yup, as I said, it's the original location for the airbag control module. A service recall moved it under the center console due to corrosion issues.

What goes under the driver's seat? Empty cigarette packs, lighters, loose change, and old fast food wrappers.

looks like a good place to mount a lock box. would be even better if it was under the passenger seat
