Question What gears should i run?

I had a 1990 Cherokee and just bought a 1993 2 door with an AX-15 and a 4.0 HO i was told it would be 3.07 gears,my 1990 had 3.55 gears should i change them and put them on the 93. i took the 4.5" lift out and am putting it in the 93, will be running 31x10.5 TSL Super Swampers. Thanks in advance for any help I'm kinda new to this...lol

the're not that different, i dont think it's worth the trouble. if you go 4:10s then i'd say yes.

I would say go for it, 3.55's is like running 4.10's on the Manual tranny. (the way the gearing is set up in the tranny) you have some power lose and some different gearing in the auto and it requires the 3.55's to be equal to the 3.07's on the manual. so if the axles are the same i would say go for it! but if your 93 has the 8.25 and your 90 D35c then i would run the D35c and then rebuild your 8.25 with 4.10's or 4.56's if you plan on running much bigger. i run 3.07's and 33's with my AX-15 just fine(faster than stock still). but deeper gearing would be nice on those up hill highway grades

I would say do it. It's a good mod for no money spent.

Even if it has the D35, you're only running 31's. Should be no problem w/31's.

I had a 93 5 speed with 410's and it was a bit overkill, 1st gear was worthless and on the freeway it was revin high. I would stick to the 3.55s. It will still run good on the streets

Nice.

And lol at the auto w/3:07's.

Does the '90 still run? If it does, you have to drive it w/the new gear swap and tell us about it.
