This Warrior bumper I want is 11 gauge steel, [1/8 in. thick], will this be rugged?

I'm looking for a war horse that won't bend when being pulled out of a good stuck.

you want atleast 3/16" (6 gauge??). 1/8" will bend rather easily, specially if it is not braced correctly.

most bumpers made out of 3/16" will weigh anywhere from 70lbs-110lbs.

my 3/8" (1 gauge) bumper that i just built weighs in at 75 lbs.

Also you want a bumper that has at a minimum of 6 frame mounts per side. they should utilize the 3 factory bumper mounts and the 3 steering box mounts(same holes drilled on both sides).

Plus, any pull points should be located inline with the mounting points of the bumper... that way. if you have to get yanked on, the force will be transmitted to the six mounting points mentioned above, saving bumper from being tweaked...common sense... if pull points are toward outside of bumper, chances of tweaking it go up significantly!

I'd go with 3/16ths... not much more weight but alot stronger. I've seen 1/4", but that' kinda overkill, IMHO

Mine is 1/4 from mount to mount and 1/8 on the outside corners.
