Renix is the Jeeps built from 87-90 they are pre OBD and have sensors that can be checked with a multimeter. Their computer does not store data.
SBC = Small Block Chevy
Turbo 400 = Automatic transmission used in heavy duty applications which preceeded the 4L60 (computer controlled) transmissions in that same application.
Dana 300 t/c = Dana 300 is the last gear driven itteration of a transfer case that was used in production that is still available and highly rebuildable.
Hope this clarifys the abbreviations for you Wayne. If not then PM me for further explanation.

Not my favorite year but at least it is a Cherokee. I like the 87-90s but I do my own work. '91-'92 were a seperate group with the advent of OBD and after that they changed again. So alot of things are specific to those two years alone. After '92 they were pretty much the same drivetrain wise until they dumped the distributor in 2001. There is a body change at '96 but the drivetrain remained pretty static until that last years distributor was omitted.

Just be aware that some parts for a 91-92 are going to be different than those for a 96 and may be a little harder to find since it is such a narrow window. Most parts places stock what they can sell and it does not pay to take up space stocking something they may sell one or two of a year. So if you can handle waiting for parts to be shipped to you or the parts house then ****** up that '92.
i'm anxious to do something else to my Jeep and don't know where to start. i know when i get paid i wanna get a tune up and alignment and any other routine thing i can think of. i know i want to eventually get a little lift when i get some more money. (nothing more than 2") so far i've replaced most of the grill and lights and changed out the valve cover. i just really enjoy working on it and want more to do.
be creative,,

If you have the 2.8L V6, the easiest and cheapest motor swap is the 3.4L Camaro motor. It is a bolt in and performs much better.

well since hopefully ill be getting a 4.0 here soon i think ill let my dad worry about the 2.5 for now. looking forward to that 4.0 power.
