What drop pitman arm should I get?
I need to get a drop pitman arm now that I finished my rough country 6.5" lift. While I'm looking at quadratec I see they have 3. The rugged ridge and Rubicon express are in the mid $60's and the Skyjacker is $100. The RR says it's for 4" and the R.E. says 3.5" or more. The skyjacker says it's for 4-8" of lift which is what the tech is telling me to get. But I wanted to get some of your opinions on the matter. I have a gift certificate and was trying to stay with in that amount and not have to spend any more money out of pocket, which knocks out the skyjacker. What are those of you running that have 5-7" of lift? The RE dpa says 3.5" or more, wouldn't that be fine?
Thanks guys

i would never run a drop pitman on an xj
at that height you are probably running decent sized tires and would greatly benefit from a upgraded steering setup that can handle the increased angles.

KTM racer, pardon my noobness but isn't that what what would correct my steering wheel angle? I'm not getting really to much bump-steer, my main reason for getting it was for the damn turn signals!
93gc40, is that what they installed on project cheep cherokee or jeep what ever it was on trucks? When they re taper the holes and move the steering to the top side of the axle?

I would run a 3 in drop. I know it cost a lil more but well worth it. thats what i have with my 6" lift. I know all the guys at rustys off road. all they do is jeeps and specialize in xjs. they put a 3 on anything over 4.

I'm curious. Why wouldn't you run a drop pitman arm on a lifted cherokee? and could you go into a little more detail about what is the better alternative?

I would suggest running a drop pitman arm, it corrected my death wobble and bump steer and improved handling in my 94 with a 4.5" rc kit. as far as the ammount of drop call the customer service number of your lift manufacturer and see what they recommend. I thought i'd need a 2-3" drop for mine (what my alignment guy/jeephead told me, he also told me to call my manufacturer and see what they recommend) Rough Country told me a 1" drop for mine so thats what I got and it worked out beautiful.
