I'd avoid that thing like the plague. Police vehicles take a beating, and not to mention the various holes on the outside and all over the dash. You can find a good deal out there.

Be careful with a public service vehicle. They are not too concerned with making sure the wiring is taken care of after they remove all thier stuff. I had a friend that bought a K-5 from the forestry service, and the wiring under the dash was hashed!! Just wanted to bring that up, good luck!!

i would buy it too did you see the jeep on the forums with a trailer a 91 sport with a np 242 and d44 rear and a bunch of other stuff id buy it right now i would leave and get it but i dont have the money

Ditto what COSXJFAN said. My son's 87 XJ was a Sheriff's vehicle. The wiring was like chop suey and the inside rear door latches were disconnected. The good news was that it had the off-road or trailoring package. I'm not sure which but, it had a D44 rear axle and the full OEM skid plate package. It also had these really cool spot lights that didn't work and a nice leak in the roof where they removed the lightbar and didn't seal the holes. So be aware of this stuff.
