I had a metal shifter handle in my Ranger when I lived in Indiana.
I HATED it in the winter...it got damn cold.
Other than that, good idea...watch for sharp edges?

I have an aluminum shifter in my MJ... Holy Moly is that cold in the dead of winter... Don't try and shift it without gloves..

I would take the cam end out, and hit it with the sander to take rough or sharp spots off of it.

cool idea but damn thats alot of weight on your shifter. I'm just thinking about premature wear on the bushings.

Never driven a manual but I would imagine it would be so if you were in a situation were you had to turn the wheel quickly and shift at the same time it would minimize the amount of time you were only steering with one hand.

its not that heavy actually its like perfectly weighted for me and i made it that long cause i hate short shifters it just feels better to me where its at right now.. the tape is going to go but i just used that for temporary.. im makin another one for the 4 wheel drive i just dont know how its gonna turn out yet.. these cams are a pita to cut in half haha
