I was wondering what you paid for your after market exhaust from a shop or online and if you like it? I am interested in doing mine and I don't want to be ripped off if I go to a shop.
depends on what you go with.... cat back? header back? motor back? u can spend some serious coin!!! if you have a shop do it are you going to have it welded or clamped? what muffler? what cat? i've paid 75$ on my old f150 but i had the muffler already and the shop only clamped it and it was only the tailpipe he made. i paid 150 to have them build my exhaust on my f350 after i bought the cat and muffler 3" all the way back. and i've also paid 220$ for 2" duals on a ford ranger...fully welded with a bullit. it all depends with what you go with. if you have the muffler i wouldn't pay over 125 for it fully welded at a shop!! you can get them from jegs and summit also for pretty cheap.... my .02

On my old ranger I paid an exhuast shop 400 bucks for a cat back exhuast that ran from one Flowmaster 40 into duals with chrome tips.
For the jeep I keep things cheap and bought a Flowmaster 44 muffler from autozone for 86 bucks and attached it behind the cat. You can either drop the exhuast out after that with a down pipe or connect it in with the oem pipe from there back.
The Ranger sounded better than the jeep but when you consider 100 bucks vs 400 I'd do the same thing to the ranger that I did to the jeep.

$145 for a dynomax kit. It sucked, rusted out in 2yr's went back to stock until I have the cash for a Flowmaster and tail pipe.

I did 2.5" pipe from the Cat. inlet all the way back to the bumper. With a Flow Master 40 included it was $170.

oh. Don't go with a turn down after it the muffler, fumes will come in to the cabin. get a new tail pipe like $25 at Advanced auto parts or have one custom mad.

Thanks guys. I just dont want to get ripped off if I decide to go to a shop. and I dont want to do something that simply doesn't work or sound good. A friend has a very good bender he used at his shop for exhaust but I have no clue how to use it correctly otherwise thats what I would do. May have to learn. I have planed to run it all the way back with a dual tip of some sort kinda like the SRT8 Cherokee tip.

I barely notice the fumes in the cab. I usually drive with the windows down. Although since the winter I've been feeling sleepy while driving... Seriously though it sounds great but you can smell the exhuast if your in the back. My drops out right before the axle. My old one was rusted to pieces. I plan on reworking it when I get the time and money to be a full exhuast again.

Like said above, it al ldepends on what you have the shop do, and if you bring the parts or purchase them there. Make sure whatever shop you go to has a mandrel bender.

You guys using the flowmaster or cherry bomb, is it too loud in the cab or can you still talk to the back seat passenger?
