I'm looking at an '89 I found online, which appears to be in excellent shape for its age and has amazingly low mileage. However, one picture concerns me:

Yes, it's very clean, but isn't there supposed to be a window crank where that little plug is on the door panel?
I'm not so concerned about the Renix anymore, having done some quick research (
) and because this will not be a daily driver.
But I would like to have four working windows...is this at least something I can use as a small bargaining chip?

power windows maybe the reason for the plug.
PLUS if it has the Bendix 9 brake system, just shoot the person who ordered it as an option. I plan on tracking down the original owner of mine and slowly slaughtering him.
Hope this helped, happy hunting.

I would have thought that too, but here's the front door:

And there is a factory blank plate where the window switches would go...
While I appreciate your willingness to take charge of the situation (
), could you please explain to the uninitiated why Bendix 9 brakes might be a bad thing? (The Jeep I'm looking at is a Pioneer model - the only things it appears to have as options are A/C and automatic.)
EDIT: Never mind - just saw your other thread. This one doesn't have ABS of any kind, so I feel better about that. But do let me know if you need any help with the hunting/killing/slaughtering, as I've got some free time this weekend.

Problem:
The power mirrors and window lock would not work (window lock was stuck on so the windows could only be rolled down from the drivers door),
The drivers side window made a thunking sound when rolling up or down because the guide sleeve had come unattached and unsleeved itself.
Fix:
Had to remove the door panel and found that the connector to the electronics in the door had been partially disconnected.
Used a zip tie to reattach the guide sleeve and inserted the guide back into it.
Cost: $0
Time: Less than an hour.
