Default What is this connector for?

Ive got a connector by the air box coming off the main harness at the

computer. Is this an ODB1 connector? If not what is this for?

All my lights are accounted for. When I removed the radiator and the

front end nothing was plugged into it.

It has 6 slots but only 4 of them have a metal tab/connector.

Thanks.

If you could provide a picture of the connector in question that would help us all.

LOL OP's question makes it sound like they have a connector like the one I made a post about and have yet to answer except this person's XJ is a 1995 so I'm 100% sure this connector is going to be different than mine.

I figured they are different, since I saw your post on the other forum... LOL.
Weather they are the same or not, Its odd that nobody has a difinitive answer as to what these connectors are since they are stock, and I dont even see them in my haynes manual.

Is it important that "something" be plugged into this connector?

Do you have an electric fan? It could be that connection or possibly the fog light connection maybe...not sure, we'd need more info...but it's probably the electric fan plug in

No, its not essenetial that something be plugged into it, just curious as to what it is for.

The electric fan is plugged in.

I was thinking its an OBD connector or ABS connector, but I dont have ABS brakes.

Probably ABS then, very few newer Cherokees have ABS

My 2000 XJ (with ABS) was top of the range when it's original owner bought it but it also has a few unused connectors scattered about. Presumably for dealer fit optional extras that weren't bought at the time.

My 90 with ABS has two relays, (for ABS), there on the inner fender. Like Nottingham, points out, If I didn't have ABS, likely there would still be wiring for it.
