Default What clutch to buy?

Just bought a 99' XJ with a bad transmission. Ive got a replacement ax15 to put in it, but I figure I may as well do the clutch while im in there (its got a few miles on it)

Is any replacement clutch going to do just fine, or is there any specific one I should go with, or stay away from???

Any advice or suggestions appreciated

I've heard great things about the stage 2 clutch material from clutchnet from the turbo ford people. Holds well and has a great pedal feel from what I'm told. I had one in my hands but never got to use the damn thing.

:edit: Also, this will be the clutch I go with when mine goes out on mine.

:edit edit: Seems as it's been too long since I have checked their site. The stage 1 clutch kit is more than adequate at 425 ft/lbs

i have 2 tj's that are 5spd. my xj's are both auto.
but i have had to do the clutch in both the tj's, i chose centerforce II. i am very happy with the feel compared to the stock clutches.

my other options i was considering were sachs and luk, with luk being my next choice.

make sure to replace the throw out bearing and pilot bearing too while you are in there.
i also replaced the nylon head bolt that the clutch arm pivots on too, and also the little spring clip that holds it in place.

Definitely replace the spring clip, its a flimsy cheap little piece that can cause major headaches and problems.

luk made the clutches for gms lsx cars forever. they're good clutches. with the right hydraulics they will last a long time and give an easy pedal. hydraulics are so important, more so than the clutch itself I feel.
