The front is a high pinion Dana 30. The rear is either a Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25. Crawl underneath your XJ and look at the transfer case. There is a red and silver label that will say either 231J or 242J.

it's more of a metal tag than a label, but you can tell the transfer case by the shift pattern indicator, if it has full-time, it its the 242

Have you bothered to look?

I am willing to bet it's there.

PS - it is NOT a truck.

Yes, November of 1991 is a 92 model. Production for the next year model starts in August/September of the previous year.

There's a tag on the rear of your transfer case also.

Never had one, so I wouldn't know. Maybe you should have looked before you started talking about how old it was.

Actin like that I say your on your own. The guy was helping you and you showed anything for respect for the information he was trying to help you with. 5 post and just joined, that explains a lot.

Dude, your probably 17 or 18 and need your *** beat for asking for help and then acting like a know-it-all DA...

Good luck trying to figure out anything with your ride, I would call it a POS but I have a cherokee also and I would just be putting my ride, along with countless others ride's on this forum down also, and I can tell your not even worth the time or headache...But then again, I know what is in my jeep and ALL the upgrades have been done by me so again, YOUR NOT EVEN WORTH ARGUING WITH...

No smiley for this so I improvised!!!

This ***hole is worthless!!!
