Maybe this will help him figure it out, IF he is still looking for the transfer case...His probably has the same nice "Special order RTV orange seal" around the outside also and the seal may be covering his plate and that is why he can't see the tag, so this should anwser his question AND help him figure out what a TC is...
It's the tag with the red box around it, that is where you can find your TC model!! 231J or 242J

lol you guys are a bunch of tools. #1 the tag isn't there. #2 ALL THE WORK I've done on my "truck" was done by myself with the helpof you online tools. #3 unless you guys have been studying MMA for a few years, you couldn't handle me. #4 i looked at the dudes post and all i saw was "ignorance is blisss...." thought he was talking to me. #5 apparently this forum is full of females, or at least a few men going through menopause. lighten up here kiddos
and I TOTALLY don't know what im doing. Had the XJ 4 months, changed .... get this..... the upper control arms, track bar, steering box, pittman arm, lower control arm bushings, sway bars and bushings, fuel fiiter, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, all brake components, new lights, redone interior, tires... shall i go on???? not to bad for a "noob" with 5 posts........ <3 not to mention the extra mods. so how about you guys calm down. i know what my axle and t case are. i was testing this forum. im glad to know you guys are social
