i opened up engine after over heating. and the wire going into the circled object wasnt in. this is not mine engine. but i duct taped mine in.

That thing circled is the crankcase ventilation system orifice, and that's a hose not a wire.

what could happen if that stayed unpluged? and is there a proper way to fix it?

Air is drawn into the valve cover through the front fitting Which gets air from the air cleaner. It then mixes with crankcase fumes and is drawn out trough that rear fitting into the intake or throttle body to be burned off. If left off it would cause a vacuum leak, as well as cause oil fumes making a mess on the engine.
You can buy new grommets/fittings at the dealer or at the auto parts store.

ok.. so i might be loosing power because of that being off. hopefully duct tape will suffice for now.
