Took me awhile to figure out it wasn't a spy camera.. My girlfriend and I definitely thought it looked like one and were very careful around it never knowing who is watching . I had a spare keyless entry sitting around which a friend gave me for free and I switched the wiring to a new RF receiver style instead of the stock IR which wasn't good anyhow... I now have a keyless entry instead of snapping keys when its cold... I broke two keys within a week.
(And yes I tried lock de-ice/lube and other things but they didnt work so I installed the Key-less)

ive had my xj for about 3 months and wondered what that was. But it never bothered me to really know what it was for.

 

Well, now ya know. I'm a little OCD sometimes, well as OCD as one can be while owning an XJ

 

Since it's not a spy camera and all, which is kind of disappointing lol, you should def put a spy camera there!!! Perfect location for one!! Nobody would know you have a freakin camera watching them break into your ride!! Gotcha sucka!!! Lol
