Default what is this ?

See that metal flat thing sticking down (sorry tilt your head to the left, pics are from phone, couldnt edit) near my (new) jackstand head? Its annoyingly in the way... No idea what it is, and wondering if I can just bend it up to allow my jackstand to be placed properly without compromising something...location is front left

(now I know what it is, did some reading...appears the flag does nothing, but the nut does and the flag design is likely just for ease of assembly? ...some replaced it with a grade 8 nut)

The flag is there so you don't have to try to stuff a wrench into the bracket. Leave it alone.

but...maybe I could just....'trim' the flag back a little ?
My jackstands have never fitted anywhere comfortably under the (front)axle, left of the front diff housing which kinda sucks. Tried putting them elsewhere (like just in front of the control arm bracket) but that didnt give me enough lift...

If the nut breaks free of the flag you'll have a miserable time getting it out.....

Leave it alone.

If the nut (not the bolt) breaks free, you mean?

Although apparently there are several people who replaced the flag nut with just a grade 8 (and no flag) w/o issues, I'll leave it alone (for now

Thanks for the input.

Roler, I would think you could bend it. So what if it's between the axle and your jackstand. If you ever need it, just bend it back down. Is the metal tab fairly thin? Like 1.5mm? Or is it a lot thicker than that?

well, with that thing literally in the way, the issue is: the whole load unto that jackstand comes unto that metal tab! And that tab is connected to a nut holding the trackbar bold. If that flag breaks, I'm f*d.
And it appears thin but its a surprisingly poor-bending thing...

Even with these new jackstands, only 3.5 cm wide but 3000 kg capacity, I still cant place them in that area...

No that's ok, because hurricanes can suck and ships lay flat
