Hello all, I took out my driver side floor mat and found a puddle, the floorboard has no rot, the only things I can think of is, the door doesn't seal properly, as much as its supposed to, or the rubber grommet is missing in the firewall for the throttle and brake cables, could this be possible that that much rain/sleet comes off the tire to get inside? Sorry, '96 classic

Your tires will throw thousands of gallons of water so is it possible? Sure. But you need to go examine the vehicle, rule out certain things then narrow it down for us.

Did you stick you hand under the wheel well liner next to the rear portion of the inner fender and see if you can feel rust. I don't think there's a Cherokee out there that this part of the floor structure isn't rotten. It may be ate up so bad that water is entering the cabin through the rust holes there. Check it out.

I did a quick look anywhere I could get my head in and a light. It will be up on a lift later today so I'll inspect a little harder, thanks for the help

Take a hose and run it along the cowl, windshield, door seals, floor pans and wherever else it could be coming from. Shouldn't be too hard to find the leak with water flowing on it.

You say the door seal or the grommet could be bad. Did you go out and look at either one of those to eliminate them as a possibility?

So.... I didn't get a chance to run a hose on the firewall yet, but I pulled up the carpet and it looks maybe a window was left open at some point from the PO, the water is just under my feet area and not under the dash or near the pedals at all, I'm leaning towards the door seal, will investigate some more, there are no holes on the floor or anywhere
