Weird Turning
This is something I noticed on another Cherokee 4WD before I bought my 2WD, 1996 Cherokee. When I turn the steering wheel to full left, and moving forward, it seems to limp, as if the tires were square instead of round (The tires are good). It doesn't seem to do this to the right and nothing when going in reverse. Is this just a Jeep thing, or is something wrong?
Also, all the threads I've read don't mention lifting the 4.0L engine to remove the pan. Is there enough clearance for pan removal?

Sounds like its stuck in 4wd...you said its a 2 wd?? Are the tires bald at all? Do you have a positraction rear?? Sounds like the limited slip is not functioning as designed. Check your steering components for tightness and serviceability. If you have loose linkages this could be a symptom.
