Weird Starting Issue
I recently bought a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic with a 4.0L stock (as far as I know) engine after initial overheating problems that are now fixed (for 2 weeks) was running fine until it didn't start up after getting gas (tried jump starting it). Waited some time debating what to do got some friends to help me move it to a side parking lot. I tried to start it, it didn't start, 2 seconds later my light friend who was going to steer it jumped in and turn the key she started right up. I moved it to my school 1/2 a mile away turned it off and then tried to start it again, didn't start. I went to practice came back and it started right up again I came home and did the same routine turned it off and tried to start it did not start. I waited 2 hours went outside and started it let it get warm for 7min then shut off this time started right up again, shut it off and tried again same result started right up. I let it idle for another 5 mins and repeated the process again started now I don't have any idea what could be wrong with it.

Everybody does it?
Hmm that ain't right either.
Maybe just go with "very common".
Anyway you can replace it for about 40 bucks. Just soak those 2 bolts in PB. Google video help to see how to carefully pry it off. Can be very pesky.

I mean one bolt and one nut. That nut compresses the ears to hold it on, and those ears can break off while you're trying to pry that thing off.
From http://www.advlifestyle.com/tech-art...switch-rebuild if you just want to try cleaning it up.

In the first reference he fails to mention to put the washer back and bend the tabs.
