I'm not sure what up, so I hope some one can help.

In the morning, or after it has sat for more than 8 hours, I have to sit and crank it for about 15 minutes with my foot to the floor. Then it will reluctantly start. I can then drive it around all day with no problem. After the initial hard start, it will start within 2 seconds.

My rig was doing something similar...it turned out to be the fuel pump...But that was after I changed the fuel filter, distributor, wires, cap and plugs...I was told by a buddy that it could also be the TSP ( the sensor attached to the back of the bell housing...good luck and try to start with the cheapest fix...plugs, wires and cap...I know the distro was more than I thought...the TSP is only about $36 at Advance Auto. Hope it helps

it sounds like your fuel pump is having a problem priming after it sits , so a good chance its the pump

Damn, thats what I was thinking.

It has spark, it runs fine all day, just in the morning.
I will start pricing pumps.

Your pump is probably fine, esspecially since once it gets primed the Jeep runs fine all day, it sounds like the in-tank check valve has gone bad(very common)...I'd install one just up the fuel line from the pump and that will keep the gas from draining back into the tank after you shut the jeep off
