Default Weird oil issues

ok so yesterday i changed my oil using 15w40 rotella and k&n filter. get done with change and fire xj up and hear this crazy rattling noise sounds like its coming from the bottom end. thinking it would possibly go away i drove to work and home noise still there. so i drain the oil and put back in what i usually use. valvoline 10w30. rattling starts but eventually lightens up. still a hint of the noise there and its definatly in the motor not heat shield rattling or muffler. possibly too much clearance in the rod bearings causing the noise. also my pressure pre rotella at idle was around 50 lbs and at 2500 around 65-70. now even with the 10w30 back in it pressure down to 40lbs at idle and 55-60 at 2500 which is still good pressure i know but the change was odd to me..any ideas???

You could have gotten a bad filter

Maybe. I'd suspect that more than the different oils causing it.

Do you really think a filter could do all that?

Puralator is good. I used to run those in my ford explorers.
