the other day i started the jeep and heard a noise like when a tire is leaking air coming from rear. we got underneath and it sounds like its coming from the fuel tank. the guy i got the jeep from says he replaced the fuel pump (appears to be new) any ideas where it could be coming from?
Sounds like leaking air? Is it leaking fluid? Is it running okay? Could be a fuel line hose or air line if you have air shocks in the rear.
I am sure others with jump in here...

Check the o ring on the pump and lines. Is there a loss of power? Or a smell of fuel I had the same sound and it was the filler neckchgeck that also just some starting points hope its only a line the latter sucks to fix good luck

Mine makes that same sound and I discovered it is the fuel pump. My fuel pressure is fine and there is no fuel leak or fuel odor so I just ignore it. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
