Hey all, I'm new here, but I've got an issue with my XJ that's been getting worse over the last 6 months or so.

The power door locks have been getting weaker to the point where sometimes they won't open or close all the way. I'll open the driver door with the physical key, but when I hit the door unlock switch for the passenger doors, the locks only open up about halfway. Sometimes, the locks don't even close all the way. (The back hatch is the only one that locks and unlocks 100% of the time). So I'll walk up to my rig and open the door right up even though I know I hit the locks MULTIPLE TIMES to make sure they locked.

My process for unlocking the other doors is as follows:

1. Once inside, relock the locks.
2. Reach over to, say, the passenger door.
3. Press on the lock while hitting the door switch
4. Hope it goes in all the way so I can actually open the door.

Otherwise I'm unlocking the driver and passenger doors by key, then doing that weird roundabout trick for the rear passenger doors.

I'm just curious if anyone knows what my problem might be, or if somebody has also experienced this before. Fuses are fine and I don't know what else it would be, especially if it effects the 4 side doors, but not the hatch.

I'd find out where the major grounds are for the lock system and refresh them where they attach to the body.

Remove the driver's door switch assembly, unplug it and spray it out with contact cleaner?
