Default water pump replacement

I've read conflicting things: what needs to be removed to change the water pump on a 98 XJ 4.0? I can just start into it and see what needs to come off, but if I knew for sure beforehand, it would save me some time. Thanks!

When I removed the water pump and thermostat bolts, they all had RTV silicone on them. Is it necessary for the bolts to be sealed?

All I've had to remove is the electric fan, and belt. Then wiggle it out.

Yeah, flushed the system on Saturday and pulled the water pump. We've been busy and I haven't gotten back to it yet. Just wondered about sealing the bolts when I reassemble.

No sealer needed on the bolts. I prefer anti-sieze.
There is no special fan clutch wrench needed.
