Water pump acting funny - need opinion's.
I just recently replaced the water pump, t-state & hoses. A couple days later something started making a loud chirping noise, first I thought serpentine but it sounded like it was coming from the pump. Its been making this sound since sunday. This morning it was chirping, I stoped to get gas, when I came out of the store I noticed a good amount of water dripping. I popped the hood, checked underneath & it was coming from the pump area, I'm guessing the seep hole. I drove of to work & when I got there no leak, after work driving home I noticed no chirping, I stopped at the store no leaking, started her up, no noise ,
Drve her home in heavy trafftic, temp was 97 degrees outside, she was holding at around 195 with no noise and when I got home no leak.. What happened? Did she prime herself? Has this happened to anyone else? Or is this the calm before the storm?

when you installed your serpentine belt you didn't put it on too tight did you?
If belt tension isn't proper you'll toast the support bearings for the impeller shaft in the pump... which is probably the chirp chirp you hear, and why it's leaking from the seep hole...

For whatever reasons, it is not unusual to have early failure for water pumps. It is called "infant mortality".
I'd be sure to buy a brand name and of course, NEVER buy a reman. water pump. Always new.
