Default Water in front floorboards

Ok so I have owned 3 XJ's two of them have been the pre 1997 and one post 1997. For some reason both my pre 97's have always leaked water into the front floorboards when it rains and it's not from the heater core. Was wondering if anyone else has this problem and has any fixes (besides ripping the carpet out and drilling holes in the bottom).

you already have drain holes at the bottom, maybe thats how the water gets in,, moisture goes up, and then condensates inside the cab and you got water...

My '97 does that on the passenger side. Not much, but it does. I think the windshield leaks, and it is running behind the dash to the floor.

mine does pretty bad

everytime it rains i get water inside. i ripped out my carpet and herculined. the rain in mine usually leaks down the doors throught the ****ty weather stripping and collects on the floor boards. i usually carry a roll of paper towels around for this very reason.

My 93 does that on the passenger side, not sure yet if it's the windshield or the door, going to have to experiment with a watering can to find out.
