Water Damage Renovation Ideas
Hey guys,
I have a water leak in my heater intake that I couldnt track down, it flooded my jeep all winter long and now Im fighting mold and mildew. So far Ive sprayed X-14 all over everything and its killed the mold, so thats good...
but my headliner is falling down now (Moisture+old glue=sagging headliner)
I am considering removing the headliner all together, but my question is, what will it be like with no headliner?? Is there wires that will be sticking out, is the road noise a lot worse, is it really terrible looking, ect...
In other words, is it worth it to repair the headliner? or just rip it out.
Also, if anyone knows of any good write ups for that heater intake leak, id appreciate the link.
If anyone has any tips for removing mold from the carpet,
thanks!

New headliner kit from Amazon.
There are write-ups on heater core replacement including partial dash removal.
Bleach at a 50/50 mix on the carpet. Test to see if it pulls color.

I would recommend adding some sound-deadening like this stuff;
https://www.amazon.com/s?marketplace...&redirect=true
There is a 5% coupon for Amazon/Ebay also

If you have a crap ton of coolant in the interior, you may just want to replace the carpets, or remove them and pressure wash + scrub with degreaser and laundry detergent.

No, the heater core doesn't leak or need replacement.
its an issue with the drivers side cowl intake area, threes a drain hole with a tube, but all that water goes down through the drivers side floor because of an issue with that drain tube im assuming.

I honestly don't know much about where the water would be coming from, but obviously you will want to fix the leak before you clean/replace things.
And assess your floor boards - hopefully they aren't too rusty.
