Default Volts required for 4.0 injector pulse

I'm trying to test/clean my injectors with a contraption, NONE will fire with 3V. Anyone know what's required? I read they get a neg voltage pulse? Thanks.

Well 12 volts kicks it off, but I'm getting a lame stream, not even close to a spray at 25lbs of air. Need to measure the ohms too.

Try 9. If you use 12 keep it supper short. Hopefully Programbo or someone will chime in. If 12 doesn't do it, something else is wrong.

From the other direction....A bulb from a 3 Cell Mag-Light, (presumably around 4.5-5 volt), worked for a "noid light" . I previously failed to get a 12V dash light to make a flash I could see. > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPdk...ature=youtu.be

There are different resistance specs for different injectors. It's ALWAYS a good idea to fill out your member info, so people can see what you are talking about. Some Bosch specs here>>

Divide CC's by (about)10.5 to get Lbs.

I think I was getting such a weak stream because the stuff I was using was really thick (techron) and it just comes out like that. I did some carb cleaner after and they look pretty good now (after sitting with the techron in them).

DFlinstone, I have a 99 but it's got the EV1 style injectors, yeah that pattern really sucks. Thanks for the info.

EV1 bodies in a '99? Eewww

Injectors in at least OBD-II XJs operate at 12-14V. Once you hit the starter they get full, unmolested battery power. The PCM controls them by flapping their grounds open and closed.

Bought 6 new ones anyway, wid 4 squirters. I think I left the techron sitting in a couple a bit too long, seems they didn't like it.
