ok i have a 95 cherokee xj and took it out wheeling and im noticeing when i get on any declination or incline the motor will studder and want to shut off. As long as im on level ground and give it a little throttle it will stay running. In addition i did get a CEL and i key tricked t and got 1241 so (12 Batt been disconnected) and (41 being charging system circuit-output driver stage for generator field does not respond properly to the voltage regulator control signal) after some research i see that it is the alternator but my voltage gauge in the interior is showing like 16-17 volts. but i test it right off the battery running and im getting 13.9. but also my gauge has always been like this will a new alternator fix that gauge issure? And i would be putting in a Durango 136a alternator as a relacement.
