Default Voltage drop question?

Hey guys when im driving and my sub hits I have voltage drop my lights will dim really bad. Which I know you can fix this with the big 3 upgrade. But I have a brand new battery and my amp is only 800 watts and im pulling about 600 from it I wouldn't think this would cause it to drop this bad and if I set at an idle and listen my jeep will struggle to start when I go to start her back up. Do you guys think I have a weak charging system? Or im just pulling to much power and I need to upgrade? I have a 99 4.0

I have a 500w amp (and a 1000w in my other jeep) and never experienced a voltage drop.

Hardcore audio guys will tell you a capacitor is the way to solve the issue but my feeling is that there is a deficiency in your jeep that is causing it.

If I were you the first thing I would check is all the grounds and the alternator. Putting in a larger alternator is a very easy swap as well. I have 5-90's 4awg wiring upgrade and a 136a Durango alternator.

battery might not be fully charging, hard cranking is a clue that the spark is weak

So I should have my alt tested? And I hate capacitors I don't think they actually help any you might as well run the big 3 and a bigger alt or dual battery's

How could a capacitor not help? Storing and equalizing energy...same thing your battery does for the alternator. Amywho, get the alt checked, sounds like you may have a dead diode
