Default VIN decoder

For those of you who haven't seen this, it's pretty cool. Decode your VIN, all the way back to 1981.

All I get is "This VIN does not appear to be valid" when I enter my VIN.

Was your vehicle originally built for Europe? Are you using 1 and not I?

Crusier54, all are Renix 88-90 and all built in Toledo, Ohio.
The XJs maybe was built for Europe but all MJs that came to Sweden ( about 240 all together 88-89 ) was imported from USA.

My VIN is not valid either. European. The third letter is in fact a number in my VIN.

Grats! Over the years, the police package included things like:

- rubber floor instead of carpet
- column shifts
- extended idle switch
- heavy duty shocks
- auxilliary transmission cooler

You can ask Chrysler for details on what your XJ actually came with by requesting the factory build sheet. Here is the link for the US: http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universa...ull&category=U

The first # is the country code. 1 is USA, 2 is Canada etc.

Well I have a 2000 Freedom. When I enter my VIN it comes up as a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Police 4dr Police 4WD. Doesn't seem to match my XJ at all. Wrong tires and wheels etc.
