Hi again. So I am having issues with vibrations. I recently put in new motor mounts and a transmission mount. Immediately after, I got vibrations. First is was anytime. Now it is when I shift to reverse, drive or drive real slow. Basically whenever the transmission is engaged to drive in either direction. My thought is due to these conditions, it is the transmission mount I put. It is a mount from oriellys and is from the brand anchor. I just saw a review here on the sight from the beginning of August that says they wouldn't recommend the anchor mount. Would a "faulty" transmission mount cause vibrations when parked in gear?

If you just replaced all of the mounts then you could be feeling the vibration of the engine that was hidden by the old worn out mounts. Just to be sure I would go around and check and make sure that the bolts are tight. I would also look at the exhaust hanger that is located on the transmission mount. That has a tendency to be worn causing the exhaust pipe to vibrate agains the cross member. Take a floor jack and jack up the exhaust pipe a few inches and see if that stops.

If you used an Anchor mount for the transmission, your exhaust pipe is almost certainly contacting the cross member. I just had to pull the Anchor one out and replace it with an OEM/Mopar mount (literally this week). They are night and day. The Mopar mount weights about 70% more and has a lot more steel and rubber in it.
I added a review to Amazon, and on these Jeep sites to try and warn people that I don't think the Anchor transmission mount is a good choice for the XJ. It is just not substantial enough.

Also, woukd changing motor mounts and transmission mount cause me to not be able to shift into 4lo? My motolor mouts were bad and my tranny mount was in better shape but was the original. Maybe just have to adjust the linkage? Shifts to 4hi and neutral fine it just seems to hit a wall or something and not go to 4 lo. No grinding or anything

It shouldn't. But if the mounts that you changed were really bad then the previous owner may have adjusted the linkage to compensate for the bad mounts. I would go under there an take a look and adjust if needed. In the long run it can't hurt.

I'd almost guarantee the exhaust is riding on the crossmember. Sooo common. And your tcase linkage needs to be adjusted if you're having trouble shifting through the case

Ok update. The anchor transmission mount is GARBAGE!!! swapped it with a napa one and everything is golden now. No vibrations and can shift to 4lo. I highly recommend the motor mounts from napa specifically their drive tech line. I'm impressed
