Default Vibration thats not the death wobble

I just bought a 94 Laredo 4X4, L6 and Aw-4 in it, no mods, has new 235/75/15 tires recently installed. 215K miles.

It develops a vibration about 45mph (very mild) that gets worse as it goes faster (at 65MPH its starting to get irritating), its exactly like driving on a rumble strip on the side of the road. Nothing has an effect on it, steering, brake or gas. Its constant.

Puzzled I took it down to the local suspension shop to let them check the whole thing out, they did it for free . They could find nothing wrong in the drivetrain or suspension, they were baffled also. Couldnt get them to sell me anything. Only thought they had was that it could be coming from the transfer case. Recommended another shop which I havent went too.

Can you tell where it is coming from? How do the motor mounts look? Have the tires been balanced? Does it change when you engage the TC, do it on dirt?

It seems like it coming from the front, havent checked the motor mounts, or had tires balanced (I assumed they were with the new tires put on by previous owner)

Good idea I'll check it on dirt with the TC engaged.

Check your transmission mount. If it has separated into two parts then that is your problem.

That I will do. Could be since engine has slight undiagnosed vibration. Not familiar at all with these Cherokees. I guess I will be before too long though

Wouldn't hurt to check your U-joints. Also take a real good look at the needle bearing in the u-joints on both front and rear driveshafts.

I couldnt believe that the suspension shop couldnt find anything wrong with a vehicle with 215k miles on it. I told them check it from one end to the other. Should have taken it to a dealership lol. Bet they would have had a long list.

I'll double check what they did and look at the trans mount.

The dealership for sure would have a long list, they always do actually, even when the car has not even crossed 10K miles
