If I do the oil filter adapter orings do I need to drain all of the oil out I just did an oil change then realized I had to do that after and I was wondering if it's possible to do so without draining it all out

Drain the oil into a clean container and put it back in when you're done.

What you will lose it what is in the filter and what little will be in the adapter area. You will lose less then a quart of oil.
