Vent selection valve under load

I've been fighting this issue for 2 years now. I guess I'll have to rip the dash out to really trouble shoot the issue.

Yeah. I have a leak somewhere inside the dash. I can pull a vacuum on the small line going into the firewall and it doesn't hold.
I pulled the HVAC control panel out, plugged the small line going through the firewall and pulled a vacuum on that same line from the other side. Still won't hold pressure so I'd say the main vacuum supply line is cracked.

Thank you for the reply. The problem I have is that the break in my house is right at the base of the connection to that little tea joint. Does anyone know what that tube is called or maybe a reference number that I could use to purchase a new one?

Is the nipple on the check valve broken off? If not use a section of rubber hose to splice from the check valve to the broken plastic tube that goes to it.
O'reilly has the hose. As I recall it's called windshield washer hose. In any case, it's a small inside diameter hose.

Yeah the connector is essentially broken off. It was hanging on by a thread but when i tried to replace the tape i think it snapped. Originally when I taped it up the aircon got enough pressure to switch to the vents and was blowing cold. Now its not

Go to the junk yard and snip out a tee with ample tubing on both sides of the tee and out the front, then splice it in using rubber hose. If you can't find a Jeep with a check valve try it without one. Certain years did not use a check valve so you may be able to get away without one.
Edit: O'reilly does sell a check valve similar to the one used on Jeeps. You may want to give one of these a try.
Edit 2: See post #15.

Or you can just go to the hard line and slip a piece of rubber hose over the hard plastic line then over the fitting on the valve.
