Default Vapor Canister help needed!

My 1988 Jeep Cherokee recently failed emissions due to the evap system. They emissions guy also noted that the hoses for the vapor canister were not attached. I'm now trying to find out where the to spouts on the canister specifically connect. The purge is closed off on my canister so it only has the other two usable. Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

The two spouts that require hoses say "to carb bowl" and "to tank." What I'm trying to understand is where specifically I should see hoses to connect to these ports. Does the carb bowl come from the air filter box? Where are these hoses and where to they get connected.
