can any body tell me where this vacuum like connects to? pics would help. thank you

The manifold absolute pressure sensor sends manifold pressure information to the engines ecu. The data is used to calculate air density and determine the engines air mass flow rate, which in turn determines the required fuel metering for optimum combustion.

There should be a vacuum nipple on the intake manifold next to the throttle body for the MAP sensor.

Yes there is, if its an older XJ, on the side of the throttle body is a double hole that it fits into..... If you dont have that part, Ive got about 4 of them laying in my parts closet if you need one...
