It can be made to fit, if you have the cash. With enough money, anything is possible.

If you were going to do a sb swap, id recommend a sbc... like a 350 305 327 383......
You can buy mounts that will bolt it right up to were your existing motor mounts go(advance adapters) and you can also keep the 231 and buy an adapter kit for a turbo 350 to bolt up to it.....
WIll hold up and have no issues...

This is what im doing to mine...
Just heard too many BAD things about the 318/360 swaps plus they take ALOT more work.

Idk man.... Im a powerstroke guy, but when it comes to small blocks, its all chevy for me... lol.
Im not sure about that..... but you could google it, and check around.....
you could keep the fuel injected.... I know one guy that put a vortec 350 in his and another that put a tb injected in his wrangler.... so thats def posible with sbc, also you could do the 5spd to.... lol.
But im not sure like I said...

Frankz did a Chevy 350 swap not that long ago. It should be in the Fab or build section. Lots of good info in his thread.

^^ Agreed. Would be nice to stuff a Ford 5.0 Cammer into an Xj. Im sure it wont fit without some serious tube work but boy would it be fun to drive.

im sure that it would fit considering that people are putting sbc's into their XJ's ill have to do some looking around to see what all I'll have to do to build the jeep the end result is to have my 4 door (current project) also be the tow rig/ daily for the wheeling' rig (not yet bought or built)

BTW, the crammer idea would be sweet
