Default Upstream o2 sensor

Any tips on removing/replacing the upstream 02 sensor? It's a 1997 Country and the thing looks like its very rusted-in.

Do it when its hot? Do it when its not? PB blast it?

Thanks for any info....

Soak it down for a couple of days with PB Blaster and try removing it when it's at normal operating temp. Just don't burn yourself.

PB blast it and let it sit for a couple hours.

My 12" wrench and everything I had couldn't budge mine after a week of pb blast. Borrowed an o2 sensor tool from autozone, worked like a charm. That thing was in there good.

O2 sensor tool? A high temp torch?

A "free" comfortable hand tool socket that fits over the sensor perfect without risk of rounding it off worked good enough. If I had access to a high temp torch that would have been more fun probably...

I did it when it was around 120 ish on the temp gauge, its simple really. Like a spark plug but with a fixed wire, kinda hard to mess up
