Default Upper Control Arms not lining up

I finally got around to putting my new RE adjustable upper control arms on and after I removed the old ones the new ones do not line up. I adjusted the new ones to the exact size as the old ones and they are about an inch off. I mounted them to the body/frame first and figured that would be the easiest and I still think it will be. Should I just be able to force it back into place where the holes line up again................it got dark so I had to quit.

if they are off to the front use a ratcheting tie down strap to the back axel and pull the front back, if it's the reverse put the strap on your bumper and pull it forward. If you are lifted the axel is in a different position and usually you do have to do the bumper and pull it forward.

I thought about the ratchet strap but wondered if anyone had tried it, thanks to all who responded.

i started to get a death wobble syndrome and upon further research decided to lengthen my lower control arms. once i unbolted them the axle immediately tilted. so i used an old wrangler tie rod ouside of the back door of the garage (brick exterior) and a ratchet strap around it and the axle to tilt and pull the axle forward. It was a hair or so off when it started to skid my ride across the garage floor. i had to lay underneath grab the transfer case cross member and push the axle with my feet while my buddy lined the bolts up.

I used a ratchet strap attached to the sway bar of my mustang parked in front of my jeep .....pulled the strap tight...got under the jeep and my buddy pushed the strap down until i told him it all lined up and slid the bolt in hope this helps

i read about an 18" pipe wrench and it works great. I tighten the wrench around the axle housing depending on the direction I need and use a floor jack under the wrench to turn it either forward or backwards(positive caster or negative caster). has worked every time with no buddys to help.

Nice. Glad you got it fixed.

I have always used the ratchet strap to adjust the caster and tilt the axle back. Usually I'd attach near the UCA mount and the x-member and ratchet til it lined up.
