Default Upgrading front rotors?

Well my rotors are shot, 267,000 miles of the OE ones and it's time to replace/upgrade before I install the lift and go to bigger tires.... Pricing the decent ones at parts stores put's it at about $80 for both front rotors but after doing some looking around I found these http://www.quadratec.com/products/56215_8002.htm
Has anyone tried the Roto-Tech Front Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors? How are they performing and holding up for ya?? I figure for only about $20 more than OEM it's probably a good investment.... Opinions? -Chris

do you have the single diaphram brake booster if so upgrade to the double it will make a big difference in the braking, rotor upgrades with this system wont be verynotice able the single system does not apply enough pressure to be helpfull

if you wheel stay way from any rotor with holes or slots as mud and dirt can get in there and eat your pads right up.

Supporting facts behind this opinion? I run cross drilled n slotted rotors and have no issues with eating up brake pads. Only thing I don't like is they take a considerable amount of time to reach operating temp which makes them a lil sticky on cold mornings. Other than that they're fine.
One big con I have found is that they also cool a little too efficiently, so if you wheel through water its will make the rotors drop in temp too quickly resulting in a nice loud squeel until they clean out in warn up again.

Been running drilled n slotted rotors with ceramic pads for over a year now with no problems. They stop MUCH better than the factory ones...Tj

Drilled and slotted helps with cooling if you're running it on the track. I highly doubt they're going to do anything on an XJ. I have EBC rotors and pads on my '97 and they definitely stop a little better than whatever was on mine when I bought it used with 127k miles. Anyway, I'd get some non made in China rotors and decent pads and call it a day.

I ran slotted rotors and i saw no difference in braking. In my opinion the only effective way to get better braking would be to upgrade to the dual diaphragm booster, and get yourself a pair of WJ knuckles. with the WJ knuckles you get huge brake rotors that dwarf the stock rotors, and you also get dual piston calipers, the stopping difference is amazing

I've put EBC pads and rotors on 4 vehicles now and it's always an upgrade. You really can't go wrong with their products and they're typically less than OEM prices at a dealer.

I'm lucky enough to work at a machine shop. I'm going to drill and slot my own rotors.
