Unexpected benefits....
Ok, so I took my "new" 96 XJ Sport to Jiffy Lube for service. Now before the flame wars start, The JL by me has had an exempliary track record in our area and I double check everything after they are done.
I like to have them do the first round and I do the rest in case there is a bad drain plug, or something wrong that they might notice that I don't. I always do my own services after the initial on a "new" used vehicle.
Anyway, I lucked out and found that the previous owners had been servicing the vehicle there regularly since 60K miles. My trip there gave me history on the vehicle that I would not have found any other way.
I am not advocating spending extra $$ by having somebody else do the work for you; especially since the XJ is so easy to work on, but sometimes there are some unexpected benefits.
I just wanted to share my "good luck" experience...
