Has anyone removed their under hood insulation?
Was there more engine noise heard inside the cab?
Did the engine heat damage the paint on the hood?
Did the engine run any cooler?
Why do they even put it there at all, to protect the hood paint or for noise suppression?

I have read several posts on this. It appears as if on the earlier modles (pre 1997),the underhood insulation is actually material that when on fire will melt and drip down onto the engine to put out the fire. Good idea but did not seem to work all that well. JB
