Sensor in the Thermostat housing
Can you get another sensor or do something to lower the temp at which the electric can come on other than do the mod to have it on a switch? I have a 180 degree thermostat in there now and i just want to ensure that it doesnt fluctuate too much.

Does your efan come on this time of year (a/c compressor off)? If it does (using a 180 and low ambient temps), might be time for some cooling system maintenance.

a 180 thermostat should be more then enough heat to warm up the heater.. You most likely need to flush out the heater core and replace the coolant.. should be replaced at least every two years, better if done yearly.. If a good flush doesn't help check out the heater controls and make sure you are getting a good flow of heated coolant to the heater and that the heater box is directing the air over the core correctly.. Sometimes the heater intake is clogged with junk or doesn't open propertly or it comes off its mounting and blocks the air flow through the heater making it seem the heater is not working when what is really happing is no air is being blown through the heater to be heated... Is there more heat in defrost/vent/or floor settings.. Different amounts of heat or air flow in the different settings indicate that there is a problem with the flap that directs the air to different areas.. Good air flow but no heat indicates a clogged or restricted heater core.. a good flushing will many times help in that sitution. But 180 should get you all the heat you want.

I recently flushed my fluid and its only like 2 months old. My air flow is good but like you said the flap that controls the direction is a little messed up and also I think the 2 check values in the vacuum lines need to be replaces because it doesn't hold a vacuum and I can't find any other leaks. I think im going to change the heater hoses that come from the thermostat housing and the other one and see what that does. I feel like this is just recent cause like a few months ago I could burn myself out.
